I’ve hit an angry point in my life and cancer makes me really angry. Someone I love and cherish is going through the traditional torture and it physically hurts me to watch him go through it. “Hate” is a word I rarely use..So I’m not using it lightly here. I do hate what it takes from people.
My opinion here is that if you can prevent it -do your best- sometimes people “just get it”….but there are many preventable cases.
Prevention is your best ally and be proactive with regards to your health and any warning signs. It just may save your life.
Over 35 % (if not more) of cancers are preventable by eating well, being active and remaining at a healthy weight.
Approximately 6400 new cases of cancer in Canada per year can be attributed to environmental causes. This should be telling us that we do have some control with regards to this deadly, destructive disease. Prevention is the key. It is far easier to keep your health than to try to gain it back once you have been told that you have cancer. Statistic wise things are not getting any better. Our foods, soils, air and water are more toxic than they have ever been.
Treatment methods for cancer, such as the methods most recommended for recovery, are comparable to extreme torture. Chemotherapy, radiation, surgery are synonymous with poison, burn, and cut. Anyone who has been through this themselves or with a loved one knows the pain, the suffering and sheer agony of it all from an emotional, physical and psychological perspective. It is life altering and a defining moment that I hope you all take to heart.
Take simple steps towards prevention:
Let it begin on your plate. Avoid sugar and foods that convert quickly to sugar (high glycemic foods). It is said that cancer loves sugar. Don’t feed it what it wants to thrive in you.
Keep your body more on the side of being alkaline by eating more alkaline (75%) than acidic foods (25%).
Avoid processed, dead foods that are full of chemical, additives and preservatives.
Eat more whole foods such as beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, and whole wheat.
Eat foods that are green and colorful, such as vegetables and fruits. Did you have 7 to 10 of those today? Your body will love you if you do that on a regular basis.
Consult a nutritional consultant or naturalpath for an individualized eating program.
Don’t smoke and stay away from those who do. If you know someone who smokes around their children, whether in the car or home remind them how dangerous it is for that child. Ear infections, asthma, allergies, low immunity, even future lung cancer may result. It is not fair to a child to expose them to something that they cannot say “NO” about.
Stress weakens the immune system and your best defense against many health issues is a strong immune system.
Wear sunscreen!! Wear a hat!
Get all toxins out of your home: perfumes, colognes, cleaning supplies and replace them with non-toxic alternatives.
Listen to your body. When symptoms appear they are warning signs, like smoke alarms. Do not just battery to stop the annoying noise. Find out what the problem is.
There are 7 classic signs that may be early warning signals, as in the acronym CAUTION. They are as follows:
-Change in bowel or bladder habits
-A sore that does not heal
-Unusual bleeding or discharge
-Thickening or lump in breast or elsewhere
-Indigestion or difficulty swallowing
-Obvious changes in a wart or mole
-Nagging cough or hoarseness

Men, do not be stubborn! Listen to your wives or girlfriends and get checked if you suspect anything. Often, worrying whether it’s cancer or not is the worst thing you can do. You cause yourself more undue stress and detecting any illnesses in an early stage is best.
There are many alternative therapies and options available to you if you are diagnosed with cancer. Chemo and radiation are not the only choices that you have. Also, you can combine your therapies with conventional and alternative methods to keep your immune system strong. A strong immune system is imperative if you choose to go the medical route for treatment.
